Lake Eufaula is a great recreation destination! Whether you enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, golfing, or camping, you can enjoy the lake all summer long. Lake Eufaula offers beautiful water, sandy beaches, 2 golf courses, and delightful camp grounds.

Activities are planned around the lake throughout the summer. The Golden Eagle Run is a poker run via boat that occurs twice a year. 4th of July celebrations attract thousands of spectators both by land and by water. Fishing tournaments are held throughout the year. Whole Hawg Day is a local celebration complete with car shows, craft shows, and great food located on Eufaula's historic Main Street. Checotah's Old Settlers Days offers carnival rides, various food vendors, and plenty of craft booths.

Lake Eufaula has over 250 housing developments within walking distance to the lake. Most offer public boat ramps, community or private docks, and secluded beaches. Although the area seems secluded from the hustle and bustle of the cities, surrounding towns such as McAlester and Muskogee allow for a short drive for all the conveniences of a large city.
